Barbara Winchester Swords, 87, longtime resident of Elmhurst. Beloved wife of the late Robert W.; mother of Susan Swords (Joseph Steffen) Steffen and Stephen Swords; grandmother of Faith Swords, Jason (Kate Cooper) Steffen, Shannon Swords, Emily Swords Steffen and Zoe Swords; great grandmother of Clara Swords Meinrath; sister of John W. (the late Ellen) Winchester and James T. (Judy) Winchester. She taught in the English department at Elmhurst College from 1960 to 1989 until her retirement.
